Wine
Ata Rangi is a truly New Zealand family owned vineyard and winery. Founder and patriarch Clive Paton was one of four pioneer winemakers in the Martinborough area, all of whom planted their first vines in 1980 on the free draining gravels of the Martinborough Terrace. Clive focused on reds from the start, with his Pinot Noir now recognised internationally as a leading New World example of this challenging variety.
Clive, his wife Phyll, and sister Alison are the three shareholders in Ata Rangi whom all work full time in the business; backed by the skills, humour and enthusiasm of Winemaker Helen Masters and Vineyard Manager Gerry Rotman. Talented consultant Oliver Masters works with Clive, Helen and Gerry in Ata Rangi's relentless focus on premium grape growing and winemaking. Ali and Phyll are responsible for administration, marketing and sales, which now see this wonderful range of icon New Zealand wines exported to 18 different countries worldwide.
