  Nick Hern

  Chief Executive
  

  An industry veteran, Nick brings a wealth of hands-on experience and knowledge to his leadership of the EuroVintage team.

  Nick's experience over a successful 30 year career covers a wide spectrum of the industry. From the early days of Brand Management with New Zealand Wines and Spirits Limited in the 1980's, to establishing a family retail business in the early 1990's which was then sold to Lion Nathan.

  From there Nick went on to be the Managing Director of Southcorp Wines Limited to establish the national distribution for the Penfolds, Lindemans, Wynns and Seppelts brands.

  In 1997, Nick established Vintage Wines and Spirits Limited which in 2010 purchased Wellington based Eurowine and now trades as EUROVINTAGE.

  Andy Reid

  Andy joined the Auckland sales team in 1996 and has progressed through the ranks to now drive our marketing strategy from our Auckland head office.

  With a BA and Graduate Diploma in Tourism from Otago University, Andy's 20 years industry experience represents a diverse overview of the wine and hospitality industries from restaurant management, hotel and bar work, fine wine and traditional liquor retail, and general management of a start-up wine export business.

  Andy has played a key role in the development of EuroVintage since he assumed his role at the commencement of the new business.

  Micheal joined the EuroVintage team at the beginning of 2011 as the chief financial officer with over 20 years’ experience as a qualified accountant.

  New to the wine industry however, Micheal brings with him experience from large multinational organisations in both financial and operational roles which have been implemented into EuroVintage’s day to day operations.  

   After spending time with his wife, two sons and dog, Micheal has a passion for fast sports cars as well as enjoying a bit of DIY around the house from time to time.

  Nick joined EuroVintage in mid-2013 bringing with him a wealth of experience with over 20 years in the liquor trade.

  Nick built his career around his love for all things hospitality, operating bars in both the UK and then later closer to home in Wellington.  Nick has worked for a number of leading liquor companies including Maxxium, Independent Liquor and Lion Nathan.

  Based at company HQ in Auckland Nick enjoys traveling the country and spending time with the sales team and meeting customers.

  Passionate about wine, Nick also enjoys surfing, kite surfing and mountain biking and spends most weekends at the beach with his three young boys teaching them to surf.

  We are thrilled to have Paul join our team as National Field Sales Manager for on & off premise mid 2017. Paul brings with him over 21 years of experience in the liquor industry having previously worked for Fosters, Mt Riley Wines and recently as Sales Manager for Bennett & Deller.

  Other than selling fine wine, beer and spirits, Paul loves to spend time with his young son Jack. He also likes to dabble in furniture making and if you are in the market for any bespoke wooden furniture, Paul is your man.

  Denise Higgins

  Denise joined the Eurovintage team in June 2016. She brings a wealth of experience with over 16 years in a variety of different sales focused roles within the New Zealand Wine Industry.

  Denise started her sales career in a FMCG sales role at Nestle NZ. Then moving into the wine industry, working at Montana Wines (which was acquired by Allied Domecq and then Pernod Ricard), where she spent 10 years. Denise also worked for Ager Sectus Wine Estate and spent the last 5 years developing Ara Wines.

  Denise has extensive knowledge in the grocery environment and has established strong relationships within the wine industry. Her current role with Eurovintage is specialising in the grocery channel throughout Auckland.    

  In her spare time, you will find Denise spending time with her husband and son at the beach, boating, fishing and water skiing. She also enjoys relaxing at home on their lifestyle block enjoying the countryside with their two dogs.

  Paul has considerable experience in FMCG having worked with Kelloggs, Griffins, Montana, Southcorp, and Babich Wines.  An OE stint in the UK enabled him to add Constellation Europe and London retailer New World Wines to his already impressive CV.

  Paul holds a WSET level 3 Advanced Certificate in wine.

  Ben is a hugely influential member of our sales team managing our key on premise business in Auckland city.

  Ben moved to New Zealand from his native France to 'follow a Kiwi girl' in 2004. His experience in France included fine wine retail and on premise work in Paris. He also enjoyed a stint in bar management on the French Riveria.  

  Ben has a Wine & Spirits Technical & Commercial Degree from ISNAB, Bordeaux and has passed the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certificate with 'Distinction'.

  Having previously worked with Villa Maria and Lion Nathan, Jared brings with him a wealth of knowledge with over 20 years in the liquor industry.

  Other than working with the best wine and spirits portfolio in the country, Jared enjoys playing a round or two of golf, snow skiing, BBQs and of course enjoying a few beers and fine wines. His favourite wines are Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Cabernet.

  After a long stint working in fashion in Melbourne and a job sailing around Europe, the Caribbean, North and South America, Ping finally landed in the wine industry. Coincidentally, she joined the team at Neudorf for John Kavanagh’s last vintage.

  With retail, grocery and on-premise experience in Nelson, Wellington and the lower North Island, Ping joined us from Vintners in October 2017, mainly focusing on on-premise accounts in Auckland.

  Her greatest achievement to date is rounding Cape Horn. So no surprises that her spare time always involves being on, in, or by the sea. With family in Nelson, she loves going home, picnic lunching with friends and enjoying the odd glass of vino or two!

  Other than selling wine, Tash enjoys spending her spare time spoiling her nieces and nephews, being out in the garden growing her own fruit and vegies and tending to flowers, her favourite flower being the hibiscus.

  Jason and his wife Anna live in Puketapu near Napier with their two boys Reed & Hugo. Outside of work Jason enjoys fishing and the outdoors. Having worked in the past as a furniture maker Jason also enjoys working with New Zealand native timber and design projects.

  We are thrilled to have Jenn join our sales team in May 2018. Based in Christchurch, not only looking after the Cantabrians but also the Nelson and Marlborough areas of the South Island.

  After studying Dietetics & Nutrition at the University of Northern Colorado with plans to go to medical school, the travelling bug hit and Jenn ended up in New Zealand and in the Wine Industy. Jenn started working at Pegasus Bay for the Donaldson family for nearly 4 years, before moving onto sales for Black Estate before joining EuroVintage.  Jenn has completed WSET levels 2 & 3 with awards of distinction for both levels. She has represented New Zealand at the World Wide Blind Tasting Championships in Nuits-Saint-Georges in October 2017, where New Zealand placed 4^th in the world.  

  Jenn is a big fan of craft beer, snowboarding, and anything to do with mountains! Any spare time she can be found cycling, even having completed two major cyclying trips to date, Seattle to San Diego and Germany to Budapest. On the bucket list for Jenn is more travel and even learning to speak Spanish!
